Boost Mobile Rock Corps.

"Got 2 Give 2 Get" was the message sent by Boost Mobile Rock Corps. on June 24 in Houston.  A group of twelve people came from New York to organize over 100 volunteers to beautify Sunnyside Park.  The volunteers painted, mulched, and delittered the park. 

Keep Houston Beautiful partnered with the Houston Parks and Recreation Department for the cleanup event.  Sheila Pous, Volunteer Program Coordinator for Houston Parks and Recreation Department said, "With the slogan 'Got 2 Give 2 Get' Boost Mobile Rock Corps. is a national organization harnessing the power of music to inspire volunteerism.  109 volunteers guided by 12 Rock Corps. team captains painted, replaced ballfield bleachers, removed invasive vegetation, landscaped flowerbeds, installed additional trash cans, and de-littered 98 acres of Sunnyside Park."  The Boost Mobile group of volunteers made a substantial impact on the community.  A young volunteer said,"I thought I didn't have anything to give to my community, but by volunteering my time at Sunnyside Park, I now know I have a lot to give to my community."   Boost Mobile Rock Corps. furnished tickets to a local concert event for the participants.
